Type of Service: Full-time (Active Duty)

Type of Position: Officer in the Navy Medical Service Corps (graduate degree required)

About this Job: Step into a mental health environment defined by state-of-the-art facilities, progressive thinking and application of the latest techniques. The dedicated group of approximately 130 Navy Clinical Psychologists care for Active Duty and retired servicemembers and their families in a wide variety of settings. In this role:

• Care for patients in military hospitals and clinics in the U.S. or overseas
• Offer inpatient care, outpatient care and substance abuse programs
• Work aboard aircraft carriers or assisting Special Warfare/Special Operations units (such as the Navy SEALs)
• Serve on the faculty at the Naval Academy or with White House personnel
• Supervise training at one of the Navy’s American Psychological Association (APA)-accredited internship programs

Qualifications and Requirements: Candidates must satisfy specific criteria to be eligible for employment consideration.

• U.S. citizenship: Required
• For practicing professionals: Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program or the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS)
• Gender: Male or female
• Age: 18 to 41
• Medical exam: Required
• Physical fitness test: Required
• Service commitment: Minimum of three years of Active Duty
